Ted Larson - An old family friend that I (Stephanie) has known all my life & married Darrell & I 29 years ago. Thank You for taking the time out of your day to come & bless these guys before their ride. You have always been an amazing person with a great faith & we appreciate that in you...
Sue Larson - Ted's lovely wife, but also a great friend & woman of faith. She also has a wonderful talent in photography. Her photos were posted on FB I believe the day after they left so check them out... Hugs to you Sue & a great big Thank You!! Because she is the photographer I have no photos of her! LOL
Bree - Our niece, with her little boy in tow she was willing to follow Uncle Darrell as far as she could go without little Jackson getting too cranky. How do you keep a young child entertained in & out of a car seat all day long when all he wants to do is get down & run... The photos are great and I so appreciate your willingness to do what you can & did for your Uncle Darrell & I.
Dan, Danielle, Ella & Annie: Thank you SO much for "surprising" us with your visit. It meant the world to Darrell to have his brother & nieces to fly in from Colorado to see him off. Also, thanks for the help on getting the trailer together as well.
The Lathrops - Thanks for all the support throughout the journey, for Josh's help on the trailer & for always willing to "feed" your Uncle Darrell as well.. He feels the love!
Chris - Stan's Donuts - Let's not underestimate the power of getting this family & firefighters donuts... Simply delicious & all low-cal. You know your one special guy to us!!
Karen Belligan - Our fearless driver, Fred, his wife... This couple has been friends of ours for a long time & they are always willing to go that extra mile for people. Thank you Karen for letting Fred go on this journey with them. As I have talked with Fred, listened to his stories & their experiences - it was really meant to be... He is the MAN for this job/journey...
To everyone else up to this point from Santa Clara Fire Dept to Riverton, WY. fire department well they will lay their heads tonight - there is not enough room to tell of all the stories, people they have come in contact with and ALL of the help they have received along the way thus far from all of you... We knew this trip would be amazing but really it is bigger than that - it is a time where all we can do is stand back & just say "WOW"... Everything is SO appreciated from the washing of the windows, to filling up the gas tanks, to the food that has been given, to the couple who drove in the night to find them - ALL of this is so inspirational & life changing.
We know that we have two angels looking over these guys "Mama Hawk" and "Aunt Margie" - two beautifully woman who the Lord called home too soon for us but we know they are watching out for these guys & we are grateful. So enjoy the photos & keep in touch... (Sorry - I do not have a photo of Dave's Mom)...
Today is a rough day - 122 miles - I'm sure these guys are going to be ready for their "welcoming" in Riverton from our good friends the Gonzales & Legaspi's... We know they are in "good hands"...
Blessings to all!
Steph
